Vintage Finds - Sweet Little Creamers

I found these darling creamers on a thrifting excursion.

The florals on them are so pretty.
And the shape of each is different from the next and oh so lovely.

Obviously someone cleaned out a collection
as I purchased them all in one fell swoop at the Goodwill.

I have posted them for sale at my website if anyone is interested in them.

A New Look...

I decided I wanted to update the look of my blog.  I've noticed that a lot of the blogs I visit use a simpler template--i.e. white background, cleaner look, etc.

So I started playing around with my template yesterday and came up with something that I like for now...created a new header with some of my vintage treasures too.

What do you think?  Which style do you prefer?  A more patterned, designed template or a cleaner, fresher look?

I'm happy with this one for now...however, who knows what other tweaking I may do.  ;)

Sunday Sojourn...

Sometimes life is hard...sometimes it is painful...sometimes it doesn't make sense...sometimes we have to wait...

We need to remember...we need not be alone...God will be there beside us in our waiting if we only ask...

Psalm 62: 5-8  "I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.  He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.  My salvation and my honor come from God alone.  He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.  O my people, trust in him at all times.  Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge."

Psalm  40:1
"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry."

While I'm Waiting by John Waller

I'm waiting...
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful...
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful...
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience

While I'm waiting...I will serve You
While I'm waiting...I will worship
While I'm waiting...I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

A room without books is like a body without a soul...

I thought I would share a couple of wreaths
I have made from old dictionary pages.

I love the vintage look of these...and
the window frames on which they are displayed.

This one sits on my mantel.

This one is in my entryway.

I found this quote...

A room without books
is like a body without a soul...Cicero

These wreaths sort of give a different spin to it, don't they?  ;)

Sunday Sojourn...

Words from another worship song
to nourish your soul...

(you can click on the song title above to listen to the song)

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

Vintage White in My Entryway

A real treasure of mine--my grandma's spoon holder that always held our teaspoons
on my mom's table at home...the only thing I have of the grandma I never met.

Love this unusual jar filled with my prim paper mache eggs.

Who doesn't love old scales?

How's that for a brief tour?  :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

My First Handmade Rug!

I decided to try my hand at a new crafting venture.  I recently purchased two looms from Our Old Country Store.

What you see in these pics is my first creation--I used old t-shirts on the Two-in-One Rag Rug Loom.  This made a rug 16 by 26.  I think I will use it as a mat on my table.

As I was in the process of learning the technique, I wasn't so sure how it was going to turn out--the jersey fabric was a bit stretchy, which probably made things a little more difficult.  However, I think it turned out great, if I say so myself! What a nice way to recycle hubby's and my old t-shirts!

I plan to make more to sell in my online shops and at the shows I participate in...need to start collecting old fabric to recycle!

Thrifty Finds

Wanted to share some of my finds from my weekend of thrifting...some of the items will be revamped and others will be listed in either my Etsy shop or on Ebay.  Stop by and check out my shops.

 Some neat old books...

There is a cute little Shawnee vase, a Lipton creamer,
an old cobalt bottle...and that wicker tray is so neat!

Some neat square candle holders waiting to be painted and primmed up!

Look at that little mini toleware tray!

Oh Deer...

My son checked his trail cam yesterday...200+ shots in the last week...lots of deer coming and going.

This is in the woods on our farm...wonder if this is one from the group of 15 that visits our backyard daily?

I would say she's definitely a camera hound!
