Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.
~Henry David Thoreau~
This is a pic my youngest son snapped on our family trip to Alaska in 2007--isn't it gorgeous?!?!? Alaska had always been a dream of mine and we were blessed to be able to make a two-week trip in May that year with our two sons. We flew to Anchorage, rented an RV and drove 1700+ miles in a big loop on all 3 major highways--yup, there's only 3 main highways. Saw lots of awesome scenery...hiked through untamed wilderness...were lucky to have a gorgeous view of Mt. McKinley...saw loads of wildlife...a cousin from Fairbanks with his own charter service flew us north of the Arctic Circle to Fort Yukon (awesome experience--thanks Tom)...went deep-sea fishing with wonderful folks who have roots here in our area--thanks Denny and Ginger (son #1 and I each caught a skate and halibut)...and that's just a smidgen of the adventure...it was truly a trip of a lifetime--one that will never be forgotten! Yes, dreams do come true!
Mt. McKinley--all I can say is "WOW".
(I found Thoreau's quote today and originally was just going to post it...then thought, "why not add a pic to go with it"...then the rest just seemed to flow...I may share some more pics and adventures in a future post if you're interested...let me know.)
Great Pictures....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog and giving me the rest of the info on the quote!!! I had "borrowed" it from another blog and was glad to have the additional info!!!
Have a great day...
Debbie
WoW, those are fantastic photos. I've lived in several places but I've never visited Alaska. The closest we've come to similar photos are the mountains of Tennessee.
ReplyDeletePlease check your email for a couple of messages from me.
Hey! I love these! Thanks for posting! Plus, I wanted to say thank you for your prayers for us. I actually want to say "I can't wait to see what is in store." Bless You!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, that trip is something I have always thought about and think I would like to do someday. Several couples from here took the cruise a few years back, but it was very expensive and almost 14 days, that is a long time to be gone from home to me. If you ever post more pics from this trip, please let me know.
