Waiting! Yes, patiently waiting!
Till next steps made plain shall be;
To hear, with the inner hearing,
The Voice that will call for me.

Waiting! Yes, hopefully waiting!
With hope that need not grow dim;
The Master is pledged to guide me,
And my eyes are unto Him.

Waiting! Expectantly waiting!
Perhaps it may be today
The Master will quickly open
The gate to my future way.

Waiting! Yes, waiting! Still waiting!
I know, though I've waited long,
That while He withholds His purpose,
His waiting cannot be wrong.

Waiting! Yes, waiting! Still waiting!
The Master will not be late;
He knoweth that I am waiting
For Him to unlatch the gate.

That's me...that's us...hubby and me...waiting...for hopes and dreams...for security...for our future...for jobs...hubby was a corporate casualty in downsizing last July...I've been a homemaker/stay-at-home mom since our sons were born--have my antiques business (mall space, etsy, website) and part-time church secretary job...but life changed last summer...and we seem to be in limbo since...lots of job applications sent out for both of us but no the meantime, hubby trying to get a couple businesses off the ground (the economy is working against that)...not sure what God has in mind...

I read the above poem the other day in a devotional along with one of my fav Scripture passages from Isaiah...I wasn't sure how to write about how these words spoke to me that day and I still don't...I just know they were words I needed to hear...God is on His throne and in control...of this world...this country...this economy...our we wait...

27 O Jacob, how can you say the LORD does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? 28 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. 29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. 30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
~Isaiah 40:27-31

  1. Bev,
    THANK YOU for such a wonderful post. I really needed that today.....I too am waiting...patiently for "him to unlatch my gate". The scripture was perfect.
    I feel uplifted!

  2. What an uplifting post that was today. My husband and I are patiently waiting on the Lord to answer our prayer for us to get pregnant and have a miracle. Money ~ that too, subbing seems to be a lot less this year than last. So many doors have closed here, it is a wonder that the town we live near is not a ghost town by now. You and your husband will be in our prayers. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. :)

  3. I think this would be good to pass along to my brother right now. They are having a really hard time with lots of issues and mostly money. He needs this right now. Thank you and God bless you and your family too.

  4. I've been a follower for a while but after reading your comment on my blog this morning, realized that it hasn't been updating in google reader! I've missed so much over here, time to catch up :o)
    I love your music playlist, brings back a lot of memories.
    Have a great day!
